Journalist / Writer of the Year

Journalist of the Year
This award recognises a journalist who has made an outstanding contribution to the media through their reporting, stories and popularity. The journalist has contributed not only to the British media landscape but have also represented the South Asian diaspora through their news.

Criteria:

      1. News stories covered from 2018 -2019
      2. Impact on journalism, especially in representing South Asians.

 

Influencer of the Year

This award recognises the achievement of a digital influencer or blogger, who over a period has created a loyal following on social media – through original content and tone of voice.

Criteria:

  1. Must have been a blogger or influencer from January 2018 – January 2019
  2. Website and social media statistics with follower growth over the specified time period.
  3. Demonstrate influence through campaigns conducted along with results.
News Channel of the Year

This award recognises the best South Asian news channel, which has not only captivated the audience through accurate and unbiased news stories but is also relevant to the British South Asian diaspora.

 Criteria:

      1. Reach figures from January 2018 to January 2019.
      2. Showcase of breaking news stories through the year along with metrics and audience feedback.
Media Channel of the Year

This award recognises the best media channel, which has not only enthralled the audience with their original content but also been a perfect partner to brands and advertisers in ensuring maximum visibility.

 Criteria:

  1. Reach figures from January 2018 to January 2019.
  2. Showcase of hot properties through the year along with metrics and audience feedback.

Demonstrate how the channel has effectively partnered with brands and clients.

Campaign of the Year

This award recognises national or local campaigns that use striking creativity and strategic planning to reach and engage the South Asian audience. Channels might include outdoor, TV, radio, online or press with evidence of how results delivered against objectives.

Criteria:

  1. Campaign brief and strategy.
  2. Campaign methodology and results.
  3. Testimonials and feedback.
  4. The campaign must have started and finished in January 2018 – January 2019.
Community Campaign of the Year

This award recognises the effective harnessing of an organisation’s influence to deliver a positive social or environmental change. Whether a one-off campaign or sustained approach, demonstrate how you’ve put responsible business practice at the heart of your organisation.

Criteria:

  1. Campaign brief and strategy.
  2. Campaign methodology and results.
  3. Testimonials and feedback.
  4. The campaign must have started and finished in January 2018 – January 2019.
Diversity Champion of the Year

This award recognises the stellar impact one individual has had on the South Asian media landscape. Whether an individual has gone beyond the parameters of their role or has dedicated an unsurpassed level of commitment, shown how creativity, originality and an inspiring work ethic provides a remarkable contribution to the industry.

OTT Platform of the Year

With streaming services taking over the entertainment landscape, this award felicitates the OTT Platform which has entertained the South Asian audience with their breadth of South Asian content – be it films, series or originals.

 Criteria:

  1. Reach figures from January 2018 to January 2019.
  2. Showcase of hot properties through the year along with metrics and audience feedback.
Reality Show of the Year

This award will felicitate a South Asian reality show, which has enthralled the audience and captivated them through their participants journey.

Criteria:

  • Viewership of show from 2018-2019
  • Performance of channel during the show period
Marketing Brand of the Year

Marketing Brand of the Year
This award recognises the brand whose marketing campaigns have been most visible in targeting the South Asian audience in an effective manner.

Criteria:

      1. Campaign strategy and results.
      2. The campaign must have started and finished in January 2018 – January 2019.
Music Channel of the Year

This award recognises the best South Asian music channel, which has entertained the audience.

 Criteria:

  1. Reach figures from January 2018 to January 2019.

To enter a nomination, please email your nomination along with any supporting documents to nominations@britishasianmediaawards.com

Please ensure each nomination has the following details:

  • Name of the nominator
  • Email of the nominator
  • Category
  • Name of the nominee
  • Contact details of the nominee
  • Criteria

 

  • All work entered must have been launched or be current during the 12 months from 1st January 2018 to 10th January 2019.
  • The awards will be judged by an independent jury of senior client marketers, media owners and agency practitioners.
  • The decisions of the judges are final, and no correspondence will be entered into concerning them.
  • You can enter any number of categories. The judges reserve the right to re-allocate any entry that, in their view, has been entered in the wrong category. The entry will only be judged in the new category.
